August 15, 2013 Passed by this beautiful scenery in Pittsburgh. Spent the week in Ohio with the family! 8-9 hr roadtrip from Maryland.
OOTD in Camp Perry! First night in Ohio - Just my second time wearing a romper and definitely a wrong timing. We had long hours on the road, water and bathroom breaks are so much of a hassle if you’ll ask me! Girls you know why LOL
August 18, 2013 After spending two long days at Cedar Point (Click to see post) and going back to the hotel already on a midnight for two consecutive nights, we decided to relax and spend the day at the beach.
Picnic, sun bathing and beach dips! Cousins made me their sand mermaid LOL
August 19, 2013 Checked-out at Camp Perry then went to Kalahari Resort - From the moment of arrival there is a sense we were a world away. Kalahari Resort with its authentic African themed guestrooms and suites, by design, goes beyond expectations. Got to love seeing aztec and tribal prints everywhere! Home to Ohio’s largest Indoor Waterpark, Kalahari also offers an outdoor park, spa, 6 restaurants and lounges, night club, artisans, arcades and beach volleyball.
After checking-in our suite, we tried a couple of slides in the waterpark but the Ropes Course kept us occupied on our first day! Since “heights” is not a problem to me and my family, we were challenged by “balancing” LOL It’s gonna be easy if you’re just holding on to your rope at all times so we kept our hands straight on our sides and balanced through the wood and ropes for a challenge! It was pretty intense at first, though you know that you won’t fall completely, it feels amazing when you get through! Volleyball match with some beach boys afterwards *winks*
August 20, 2013 From a tiring day yesterday including a “kids” night out, I mean the arcade, waking up to a cozy room filled with nature interior design feels so relaxing! We ate our buffet breakfast and went back to explore the place afterwards. The enormous park features virtually every kind of water park slide and attraction, including two surfing simulator rides, water coaster, lazy river, bowl ride, wave pool, body slides, tube slides, raft rides, mat-racing slide, interactive water play structure, activity pools, and indoor/outdoor whirlpool saunas. So happy for having the chance to try them all, been in the water for too long- I broke a nail *cries*
The water park itself was fantastic! If you come in the evening or early morning, you can avoid the lines. Perks of being a hotel resident, it opens an hour ahead of those who were having a day-trip. My favorite probably is the water roller coaster such as the Zip Coaster. Fun water slides are the Tanzanian Twister, Zig Zag Zebra and the Cheetah race. They also have a surfing simulator area which is great for people who have never surfed in their lives. The leopard’s lair is a fun area for little kids with a less intense water slide, a play area and a big bucket.
The Wave pool/Beach is great for the whole family. The waves are fun to be in whether you are in the deep or shallow area. We definitely enjoyed Victoria Falls and the other of the same type, those are the water slides that fits 4 people in a rafting inflatable. It’s amazing to feel safe but I swear there were so many lifeguards! LOL Overall, it’s fun and creates bond with the whole family! There’s so much you can do and days would pass by real quick. It’s awesome.
August 21, 2013 Gateway Restaurant is located at the intersection of Interstate 70 in Breezewood, Pennsylvania. This is where we had our lunch stopover on our way to Ohio, our experience was so great and our tummies were so happy that we just had to come back for another stopover on our way back to Maryland. Photo speaks for itself LOL Those were my meals! Yuuummm =P~
CEDAR POINT- OHIO
August 16, 2013 Went to the Best Amusement Park in the World for 16 consecutive years! CEDAR POINT is located on the shore of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. Located at the front of the park, GateKeeper, forever changed the landscape of the Cedar Point Peninsula. This ride is the longest winged roller coaster and boast the longest drop of any winged roller coaster on the planet. That’s our first ride!
Cedar Point has repeatedly set world’s records in the fastest and tallest categories of roller coasters. It is Ohio’s top tourist attraction and considered the Mecca of roller-coaster aficionados. The park features a world-record 15 coasters among its dozens of rides. Highlights include the Magnum, Mean Streak, Mantis, Raptor, Wicked Twister, MaxAir and Maverick. We made sure to ride all of the major roller coasters they have and those were the best two days of free falls in my life! It’s so amazing it can’t be put into words but I’ll try my best LOL
August 17, 2013 Zero to 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds. A few seconds later, we’re 420 feet in the air. In the race for pure adrenaline thrills, there is one winner: Top Thrill Dragster. Nothing else compares to this high-horsepower shot into the sky. From a standing start we’re launched forward, then straight up, then straight down and back to the finish line. The ride may be over in 17 seconds, but it will stay with us forever. It is the highest drop I’ve ever been into! I never shut my eyes the entire time to make sure to absorb the beautiful view for at least two seconds at the peak. Got so daredevilish to put my hands in the air and screamed all the way down, we were going so fast it made me teary eyed LOL Cause of the wind! Not the emotional tears you guise. Haha
Top Thrill Dragster photo op during the launch! Can you spot me? LOL For most of their rides you can expect roughly a half hour wait or less. For the most popular rides you can expect about an hour and a half to 2 hours though even that is fairly rare to truly hit those wait times. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? I have videos posted showing the best roller coasters we’ve been on and you can check my Instagram for that: @misspauuparazzi
For those non stop walking, screaming, falling etc we made sure to hydrate ourselves as much. I highly recommend Perkins Restaurant, where we had lunch for two days, though you have to walk all the way to Hotel Breakers where it is located, it’s really worth it. You can have a nice spot to relax and they have exceptionally delicious menu which you’ll never experience in amusement park food stalls. We also had the chance to embrace the view as we walk pass through it while we go there and then back to the park after.
To sum it all up, my family and I’s experience in Cedar Point is priceless. Intense roller coasters (that’s a given already), the landscaping is really pretty, accommodating and nice staff (not because I got a pillow prize cause one of them guessed my age wrong - she said I’m 15 years old *giggles* baby face haha) and anywhere else because of its setting overlooking the lake. It is a great family vacation spot and we really had a great time. We highly recommend Cedar Point to everyone! ♥
July 6, 2013 Off to Virginia with the family!
3-4 hour long drive from Maryland
Lunch at Steak&Shake, Fredericksburg VA
Checked-in and stayed for a little bit at the hotel then we’re off to KINGS DOMINION ♥ Kings Dominion is a 400-acre theme and water park that’s home to more than 60 rides, slides, shows and attractions, including 15 roller coasters.
Spot me! Spent our afternoon/night riding roller coasters and enjoying the waterpark ;)
Drop Tower! (3 years ago: Great America- Drop Tower) This one can accommodate more people in a ride!
Wind Seeker and the Americana - I posted videos on my Instagram check them out here: @misspauuparazzi ;)
July 7, 2013 Breakfast, good morning Virginiaaa! KINGS DOMINION AGAIN ♥
All you can drink Kings Dominion tumblers! We got more than our money’s worth given how many times we refilled half day yesterday and whole day today! Win! Seen in the photo above is the Eiffel Tower (that we weren’t able to try) is for some nice views of the whole park.
The park features one of the largest coaster collections on the East Coast, large children’s areas and WaterWorks, a 20-acre water playground. We grabbed a quick lunch in one of their restaurants and then back to our dare devilish selves LOL
We circled back around the park and made sure to hit The Crypt, Avalanche, Anaconda, Shockwave and Ricochet. I loved all the steel coasters! Wooden ones are too rough and bumpy though.
We conquered Intimidator305, the tallest and fastest coaster of its type on the East Coast yaaay!!! Intimidator 305 and Volcano are the most popular attractions at Kings Dominion, so we made sure that we didn’t miss them. Beyond those two coasters, the hottest rides in the park are: Dominator, Flight of Fear, Grizzly, Shockwave and Rebel Yell.
Lazy rider, Pipeline Peak, Zoom Flume and Tornado! Michaela, Nik and I loved the Tornado- extending 65 feet into the air, the Tornado provided us with a unique water experience by starting off with a drop and from there we went flashing all over and around the giant funnel.
Due to the park’s long lines, we only get to try one slide and of course we chose the best one! Night Slider vertical drop starting from 77ft platform body slide! I almost chickened out when we got to the top but my cousins were really brave and I couldn’t back out LOOOL And hey, we did it hahaha wave pool afterwards, spot us!
This daredevil Michaela made me do this too! Watch our video here: YouTube: Skyflyer Extreme by Misspauuparazzi I remember back in the Philippines when my family and I went to Dahilayan Adventure Park, (click to see post) they had a similar bungee jump ride but Kuya Cheso and I chickened out so we didn’t get to try haha but this time Michaela and I did it haha I guess it’s all because of the company LOL
Best part is that we were able to experience the breathtaking thrill of hang gliding and skydiving at the same time as we speed up to 60 miles per hour while free-falling 17 stories toward the Earth, skimming just six feet above the ground- I lived a good life LOL Ended the day by riding the Windseeker for last time with the whole family. Didn’t even waste a second in Kings Dominion!!! It’s amazing, knowing that our family is a fan of theme parks, super fan. We always wanna do more! ♥
July 8, 2013 Last day in Virginia! Wearing my Gangsta Rap shirt from @seashop - Follow them on Instagram for updates!!! They make cool shirts! ;)
Brunch at Denny’s in Ruther Glen, VA - I had their July Red, White and Blue plate special, so yummmy! I will forever love pancakes (and waffles) =P~ Strawberries and blueberries on my pancakes? Major plus points!
Another 3-4 hour dive goin back to Maryland. Had our quick stopovers, streched and grabbed some cold drinks to beat the heat.
Roadtrip again! Had a glimpse of Washington Memorial, hello DC we meet again. It’s been 3 years since! What a fun-filled weekend with the family- so happyyy ♥
December 15, 2012 NEW YORK CITY
Few minutes away from Caleruega, fambam and I decided to eat our lunch at Tagaytay! First stop was at the ever famous Mushroombuger.
It is a great place to stop for a family meal on a trip to Tagaytay. It’s a nice change from the normal fast food chains because it has a simple but interesting menu. For me, it would be a lot better if they would renovate the place and it would definitely attract more customers. Plus points for a healthy sandwich ;)
Next stop was at RSM Lutong Bahay! This would be my second time here since my friends and I ate here when we had our pre-graduation getaway in Tagaytay (see previous post)
RSM never failed to surprise their customers with their services and delicacies therefore receiving prestigeous awards such as Most Oustanding Home-Cooked Restaurant (Metro Manila Awards) given by The Philippine Quality Awards For Business Excellence and was chosen as the Country’s Best Restaurants in serving BULALO by the Sooo Pinoy last April 2010.
Eating right next to the Taal Volcano! Breathtaking view, priceless :)
