LOOKS: October 2013
INSTAGRAM: @misspauuparazzi - I basically post my #OOTDs the same day on IG. Then compile them here after a month LOL I used to blog weekly during my first year here in the US but this time I’ll try to do something better. Hopefully, I can bring back those quality blog posts starting now… Or not. Haha but really, if you’re reading this right now. Thank you for your time. I suck at this. Why do I even continue blogging anyway haha jk

WEEK 52 / 12 MONTHS / 1 YEAR
9/1/13 Time flies, I’ve been living here in the US for exactly a year today! A year since I left my area of responsibility and a year since I last hugged my loved ones in the Philippines. I’ve been missing a lot of people, places, food etc recently but it doesn’t really cover everything about me being away from home. There are actually numerous things I am thankful about, mostly are the small things that I thought never change as days pass by but when I come into thinking in a way what’s it like a year ago, a lot has really changed. Just my physical self in particular, the shaved side hairstyle I had when I left the Philippines, now it is on shoulder length, trimmed it twice just to make the sides even and the length, layered. Promised myself to let my hair grow longer though there are times that I kinda miss having that super short hair like I couldn’t care less about how it looks like, just gonna brush it around with my fingers and all that, but my hair already needs some serious fixing using a real brush right now!
It’s the first time I experienced all the four seasons consecutively! My favorite so far is the fall season/ autumn, the transition from summer to winter which is not too cold and not too hot, it’s just perfect. It’s always fun dressing up, I mean, I grew up in the Philippines where it’s like summer all year long so living in a place like this right now always excites me to dress up depending on the weather. A year in the US has been really amazing, living in a peaceful town in Maryland with a happy family, visited the busy streets of New York, shopping malls of Delaware and Pennsylvania, conquered the best of the best roller coasters in the world in Virginia and Ohio, not to mention going to some county fair/museums, multiple antique shops downtown and different restaurants from all over the place. For a year, I was able to post 52 blog posts just to tell a little bit of something how each week went by, lame outfit photos that are mostly mirror shots, photos of food, sometimes experiences etc. I’m surprised that my blog hits/ page views still increases up to now and I really appreciate it if you’re still reading this right now! Knowing that there are still some of you who visits my humble blog from time to time and sometimes leaving a message too, well, that melts my heart. I also have a personal diary, just to let you know that this blog is just a small percentage of who I am. I just choose what I want to post and I decide what to let you know, generally the things I like. So forgive me if your nonsense hate notes are always ignored, Anonymous. And to you my sweet peas, I love you all. (misspauuparazzi.com/ask)
Though my blog right now only consists of my Instagram photos, but with stories, there is no doubt that my blog entries back when I was still in the Philippines were a lot interesting and there’s really a lot going on all the time like fashion/blogging events, getaway/travel with family and friends, college, fun, booze, sponsorships/promotions, and all the other stuff related to social interactions everywhere and that’s what I’m totally missing the most. I met a few people here including those from Bike Camp, from the golf course and the gym but you know, it’s just that I don’t see myself hanging out with them like how I used to with my friends back in the Philippines. Friends like family whom I spend my time with when I’m not at home, and that’s most of the time. Ok I get it, I would probably gain friends if I go to school here or if I have a job or something, but for someone like me, well what do I expect? At least I have my fictional character friends from my multiple Korean/American series that I’ve always been looking forward to, right? No? Ok. Thankful for having my cousins to keep me sane anyway.
I turned 21 last February! Most people say I’m too young to be out of school already. I was 20y/o when I graduated, I understand that most people in the US with the same age as mine are probably still in college or if not, working. But honestly, I’m Asian, tiny and having a young face is already a given! LOL Kidding aside, I never felt so independent before, been washing my own clothes/sheets using the washing machine/dryer, cleaning my own room and bathroom and preparing my own meals whenever my cousins are at school and uncle/auntie’s at work. Also, I’ve been driving with supervision for a year now and that made me quite familiar with the roads and highways round town. Thanks to my uncle for teaching me! I completed Driver’s Education with my cousin, as mandated by the state before getting a driver’s liscense and we’re actually getting ours this month! Yay!
A year has passed and with that, I’ve been able to get my credentials evaluated by CGFNS and passed the English proficiency exam and that made me eligible to take the state boards (NCLEX-RN) and that’s still my goal and yet to come. I believe that getting my USRN liscense will be another big start for me, a step outside the real world, because right now I’m on the “safe side” of the real world, I guess? What could I ask for when in fact, God’s timing is perfect, I am where He wants me to be at this very moment. I am so thankful that I have a very supportive and loving family here, at the same time my relationship with my family in the Philippines gets stronger each day with God in the center of our lives. Looking forward to more adventures, to becoming a USRN, to new friends and relationships, to new memories and the most awaited of all, reuniting with my family! Life only gets better from here, right? I just have to live everyday by keeping my hopes and dreams close to my heart and the next thing I’ll know, everything I’ve been asking for is already set before my eyes. Why? I have an awesome God.
Lazy nails! Plain neon green this time ;)
It’s been a while since I last had my favorite chocolate!!! Yes, it can take me a long time and not get it myself because it tastes better if someone gives it to me LOL Silly thought, I know haha
Oh btw, Congratulations to my brother for passing the PT board exam in the Philippines! I’m a proud sister, hoping to see him soon ♥
